America has been taken by storm during the last few hours with the breaking news of F.B.I director James Comey being fired by the Trump administration, under the advisement of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
This is raising several concerns considering the fact that James Comey was in the middle of investigating the Trump administrations ties to Russia and the hacking by Russians during the 2016 presidential elections.
Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings of Baltimore Maryland stated,” Congress needs to have an immediate emergency hearing to obtain testimony directly from Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the deputy attorney general, and F.B.I director James Comey.”
Cummings continued by stating, ” The White House was already covering up for Michael Flynn by refusing to provide a single document to congress, and now the President has fired the one independent person who was doing to most investigate President Trump and his campaign over allegations of coordination with Russia. Rep. Cummings went on to say, ” It is mind boggling that the Attorney General- who claimed to have recused himself- was directly involved in the decision to fire Director Comey according to the White House itself.
Cummings closed by stating, ” There is now a crisis of confidence at the Justice Department, and Trump is not being held accountable because House Republicans refuse to work with us to do our job. Congress must restore credibility, accountability, and transparency to this investigation to finally pass legislation to create a truly independent commission.”
Cummings is not the only one who has spoken out about this issue Sen. Bernie Sanders took to twitter to say:
Donald Trump’s decision to fire FBI Director James Comey raises serious questions about what his administration is hiding.

What are your thoughts on the sudden firing of Comey? Does this behavior seem normal or does it display a White House initiative to cover up its tracks leading to involvement with Russia?
