On Saturday August 6, 2016, Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant of Empowerment Temple A.M.E Church in Baltimore Maryland, is planning to make history by opening one-thousand bank accounts, in one day, at The Harbor Bank, which is black owned in Maryland.

Dr. Jamal Bryant calls this move “Black Dollars Matter Saturday,” reminding us that after civil rights comes silver rights and that we have to begin discussing ways for establishing a clear cut agenda for African Americans concerning our economic development.

“The very first bombing that took place in America was not Pearl Harbor, the very first bombing that happened domestically was the destruction of black wall street. That is the very first time that America released arsenal on its own community. When it is that oppressed people become economically empowered it becomes a threat to white supremacists systems. If in fact we would stop being consumers and become producers then we’ll be able to shift everything that is taking place,” Dr. Bryant stated.

There will be five locations opened on Saturday from 9a.m. to 12 p.m. if you are in the Baltimore Maryland area, if you are not in the area you can still sign up for an account at theharborbank.com. Please join in with Dr. Bryant on making history by #bankingblack.
